The crime was unsolved. The trial at the Old Bailey heard Mr Reid was killed simply because his wife Mabel was black. July 25 – Greg Nicholson, 34, a drug dealer, his girlfriend Lori Ann Duncan, 31, and her two daughters Kandace Duncan, 10, and Amber Duncan, six, were all shot dead. Jan 20 – Lorraine Holt, three, was sexually assaulted and stabbed to death after wandering out of her garden in the snow in Sinfin Lane, Derby. Her body was found in a puddle in a lovers’ lane. Darren Newland, 28, who was homeless, and Mark Keegan, 28, were both jailed for life in July 1997. Oct 9 – Claudio Anunciacao, 32, from Stockwell, died of heroin intoxication, and was found in a rubbish chute at Wayland House, Sidney Road, Brixton. Jan 24 – Lucy Marshall, 82, raped and stabbed at home in Cowdenbeath, Fife. In 2012 the Lord Advocate ordered a new investigation. Smith admitted to being bisexual. Paul Termann, 43, a former soldier, was convicted of murder in his native Germany and jailed for life in 1982. Feb 17 – Stephen Worthington, beaten about the head with a concrete post and dumped on a track in Darlaston, Wolverhampton. Thomas Brophy, 20, was jailed for life in March 2000.
